آخر کار احمد نے ماں کی آہٹ سنی۔ اس کا دل زور زور سے دھڑکنے لگا۔ دروازہ کھلا اور ماں مسکراتی ہوئی اندر داخل ہوئیں۔ احمد دوڑ کر ماں کے گلے لگ گیا۔ اس کی آنکھوں سے خوشی کے آنسو نکل آئے۔ وہ لمحہ ایسا تھا جیسے دنیا کی ساری خوشیاں احمد کے قدموں میں بچھ گئی ہوں۔ ماں نے احمد کے بالوں پر ہاتھ پھیرا اور کہا: “بیٹا، میں بھی تمہیں یاد کر رہی تھی۔” یہ جملہ احمد کے احساس کو سکون میں بدل گیا۔
